Recipe for a Perfect Fall Afternoon
- 1 cup/mug any size
- Cream (the real stuff is best)
- Sugar to taste (optional)
- Book or book pile with various book marks
- E-Reader if you prefer
- Couch or comfy chair
- Let phones go to voice mail.
Stir beverage until the right flavor and consistancy to your liking. Carry mug to a table close to your couch or comfy chair. Situate your body in a comfortable incline and cover lower body with blanket. Reach for first book. Open to first page of story and begin reading. Sip beverage as needed. Repeat...reading and sipping.
Things to be cautioned of: falling in love with the action and characters, being swept away from reality for long periods of time. Missing characters from a book when you have finished it. Spouse asking, "And what have you done all day?" Tell them, "Keeping the world safe from me losing my mind." Easier and more fun to lose your mind in a good book. And forgetting to do mundane chores like, laundry, cleaning house, cooking and go to grocery store to prepare something for dinner. When asked, "What's for dinner?" You reply, "International cuisine--your choice, pizza or Chinese."
Danger: Could be habit forming. Please take precautions and you may wish to warn others of your habit to prepare them for the unexpected. Show family where the Take-Out menus are and any coupons for specials. Remember to find time to sleep and eat properly.
